Search and filters
Author offers several ways to locate the contents inside:
- General and project searcher.
- Filters to locate units.
- List View to organize and filter the unit's information.
Searcher
With the search engine you can locate any item (projects, folders or drives). This search engine is activated by pressing the magnifying glass icon in the upper right area of the screen.
In the search engine you can search for any project, folder or drive by name, or use the advanced filters. These filters allow you to locate content by its type, by tags or even determine if we only want to locate archived contents.
After defining the search, click "SEARCH".
The search results will be sorted alphabetically and always showing the projects first, then the folders, and then the drives that meet the search criteria.
In addition to the general Author search engine, within each project, you can use a specific search engine that will only locate items within that project:
Filters to locate units
Filters allow you to display only units that meet specific criteria:
- The name or code of the unit.
- Project or folder in which the drives are stored
- Unit-specific tags.
- Review status. Allows you to locate units that are in draft state, Pending review, Rejected... It only works if we've turned on the review process in Author.
- Date modified.
- Template used
- Blocked by a specific user.
Filters are available in the "Units" tab and inside the projects.
List View mode
Units can be displayed in "Grid View" mode or "List View" mode. Simply tap the icon that allows you to change the view.
This functionality is available in both the "Units" tab and in projects.
If we are in List View, by clicking on the "Settings" icon, you can configure what data we want to display about each unit (name, code, template, last author...). A minimum of 3 columns and a maximum of 8 columns can be displayed.
NOTE: Depending on the screen resolution and available space, you will not always be able to see 8 columns on the screen.
Once the desired columns are added, they can be used to sort the units:
