Configuration - Color scheme
Each of the elements that make up a unit (bars, buttons, the text itself) has a set of colors for the main body, the background, the highlighting.... This range of colors is common to all of them to give the unit a certain look, this is what is called the Color scheme.
You can choose this color scheme when selecting a new template, and in some cases it can even be modified while editing it. The color scheme that determines how the template will look is called the Color palette.
In the newer templates in addition to switching between existing color schemes, you can create new custom color schemes if you have a Professional author license.
Selecting the Color palette
From now on when creating a new Authoring Unit and selecting the theme, in the information window you see a new section called Color Palette with the different ranges of colors that you can choose for the look of the template. Clicking on any of them you see a preview of how the result would be.
Choose the color palette you prefer and create the unit.
The possibility to change the palette (color scheme) while editing the unit is only available for the newest templates.
Changing the Color scheme
To change the color scheme, if you are working with one of the templates that allow you to do so, you must click on the three dots icon to display the options menu and select the Unit configuration.
Once inside look for the Color scheme section in the menu on the left. You see all the available schemes spread over two columns: Default color schemes, those that come with the template itself; and Custom Color Schemes, those created for the unit by Professional licensed authors.
Click on the three dots icon and from the drop-down menu select the Set as default scheme option. The selected scheme is marked with a Default label, and when you return to the unit you will see that the appearance of the interface has changed. You can change the scheme as many times as you want.
Editing a Color scheme
To create, edit or delete a color scheme, return to the same section within the unit configuration. Depending on the author license type you will have access to some or other options.
Easy license:
Users with easy license will only be able to Set the default scheme from those available, the rest of the options are disabled. Clicking on the arrow to the left of each scheme displays the list of colors marked for each section of the template.
When creating a new unit only the Default color schemes in the left column will be available. If you see new schemes in a right column it is because another author with Professional license and access to the unit has created them.
Professional license:
Users with professional license, in addition to changing the scheme, will be able to create new ones and edit them.
To do this click on the button with the + symbol in the lower corner, a window appears to name the new scheme, click on Save and it will be displayed in the column of Custom Color Schemes on the right.
Clicking on the arrow on the left to see the colors that integrate it, you see that now there is an icon of three dots in each one to edit them. The title of each section names the section of the template it is related to.
If you also click on the three dots next to the name of the scheme, options appear to:
- Set the new scheme as default in the template.
- Edit the scheme name.
- Delete the scheme, this can't be undone.
To edit each color you can:
- Choose it in the spectrum
- Enter the hexadecimal code in the box on the left
- Enter the RGBA code in the boxes on the right side
