Change the appearance according to user group
This feature is only available for instances running Keycloak.
This feature allows you to customize certain elements from the appearance of Learner Portal, and apply it only to some specific users. To do this you will use the Global Admin setup app, in particular the Groups tool. Thanks to it you can gather a series of users to apply massive actions to them, such as enroll or unenroll them to a training. To create a new appearance, you must first create the user group.
Once created, go to the group page and click on the Change appearance tab.
You can see a preview of how the home page will look, which is updated as you change any elements. They are distributed across the tabs:
-
General: changes the default theme of the home page, does not apply in Learner Portal.
-
Logos: change the logo shown in the header of Learner Portal, as well as the logo for email notifications.
-
Colors: change the color of some texts and buttons in Learner Portal, as well as the font color on the home page.
-
Background image: change the default background in the home page, does not apply in Learner Portal.
Clicking on the Save button the changes will be applied to all users in the group. To restore the default settings you can click Restore appearance by default at the bottom right.
What happens if a user belongs to two or more groups with custom appearance? In this case a priority order is followed:
- By the level of the groups, the appearance of the main group is applied first, above the subgroups. What if they are at the same level?
- The group whose appearance has been modified most recently has priority. Regarding the modification date, it is considered since the creation of the group, regardless of when the user was added to the group.
