Configuration - Show alert when closing
In Author the contents are set so that, when the learner accesses, a pop-up window appears where he/she is reminded that to exit he/she must click on the Save and Exit button, which is usually placed in the upper right corner of the page.
This alert tries to avoid the loss of progress information, in SCORM contents this progress is saved from time to time. If the student closes the browser tab directly, or the browser completely, the last unsaved data will be lost, since the communication between the content and the LMS is lost. Therefore the correct procedure is to save and exit the content first. This and other causes of lost progress are described in this article.
Author also includes a feature to warn the learner when he/she tries to close the browser tab, or the browser completely. If enabled, an alert like this is displayed:
The message is not customizable, it depends on each browser and the language in which it is set.
To activate this option, go to the Unit Configuration.
In the Advanced section activate the flag Show alert when closing the browser if the exit button of the content was not pressed.
